Italy has qualified for the first time for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from the Europe Qualifiers. This is the 10th Edition of the T20 World Cup which started in 2007 from South Africa. India won the first T20 World Cup.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Format

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in the same format as it was played in 2024 in the West Indies. The tournament consists of 55 matches.

• Total participating teams will be 20.

• All the teams will be divided into 4 groups of 5 teams each.

• From each group top 2 teams shall qualify for the Super 8 Round.

• These eight teams shall be once again divided into groups of 4.

• From these two groups, top 2 teams shall qualify for the semi finals.

• After the semi finals, finals shall be played between the best teams to decide the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Champions.

Back-to-Back Events Hosted in India

India is not only hosting ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 rather a series of events are already planned to be hosted along with this major event.

• New Zealand tour of India (January 11 to January 31)

• ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (February 7 to March 8)

• IPL 2026 (March 15 to May 31)
