JPSC JET 2024 Notification Out: On September 9, 2025, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) released an official notification for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test or JET 2024. The online application process commenced from September 16, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates are required to visit the official website of JPSC Ranchi i.e., https://www.jpscexam.com/ to fill their application form. This article summarises the eligibility criteria and the process to apply for JET 2024.

What is the JPSC Jharkhand Eligibility Test?

The Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) checks the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and admission in Ph.D in Universities and Colleges of Jharkhand. The validity of JET certificate for the eligibility for the above mentioned posts is forever. The official notification comes under Advertisement No. 08/2025 which specifies the eligibility criteria, fees, important dates, and application process.

Steps to Fill JPSC Jharkhand Eligibility Test or JET 2024 Online Application Form

1. Visit the official JPSC website at jpsc.gov.in.
2. On the home page, click on “Online Application”.
3. Find and Click on “Click here to apply Online Application Form for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test 2024 Advt.No.-08/2025”.

4. On the next page, new candidates must register through the OTR portal through the ‘New Registration’ link given in the page.

5. After registration, login through your Mobile Number, Email Id or OTR ID.
6. After logging in, Go to ‘Latest Notifications’.
7. Apply for the examination from the list, upload all the necessary documents and pay the application fee before the deadline.
8. Keep the print out of the receipt of the fee and other application related documents.

Jharkhand Eligibility Test JET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the JET 2024, the applicant must satisfy the key parameters as listed below:

Educational Qualification

• Candidates, unreserved or EWS, securing 55% in their Masters from any of the universities recognised by UGC are eligible for JET 2024.
• Candidates with BC-I/BC-II/SC/ST/PwBD are allowed with a relaxation of 5% i.e., 50% marks in Masters of equivalent course without rounding off.
• Candidates who are appearing for their Masters, who are in their final year, whose result has been delayed are eligible for JET 2024. The admission and eligibility for the post shall be provisional and will be considered after clearance of their Masters in accordance with Points 1 and 2.
• The Ph.D degree holders having completed Masters by 19th September 1991 are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in their Masters score.
• Candidates are advised through the advertisement to appear in their subject of Post Graduation, if the subject is not listed in the listing of JET 2024, apply for UGC-NET/ UGC CSIR.
• The candidates with reservation from the state of Jharkhand are required to mention their details of reservation. Any candidate whether SC/ST/BC/EWS from outside Jharkhand shall be treated as unreserved.

Age Limit and Relaxation

There is no upper age limit in applying for JET 2024 for the posts of Assistant Professor and Admission in Ph.D.

Jharkhand Eligibility Test JET 2024: Examination Pattern and Marking Scheme

Examination Pattern: The test will consist of two papers:

I	100	50	Teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate shall be analysed.
II	200	100	To assess the domain knowledge (subject to be chosen by candidate)

Examination Mode: Offline (OMR/ pen and paper) mode and Objective Type Questions.

Examination Duration: 03 hours (180 minutes) without any break between papers and all the questions are compulsory.

Marking Scheme: 

• Each question carries 2 marks.
• There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
• No marks will be awarded for unattempted/ unanswered questions.
• If a question is found to be incorrect, then 2 marks (+2) will be awarded only to the candidates who attempted the question.
• If any question is found to have multiple answers, the candidate who has opted for one of the right answers shall be treated with +2 marks.
