Mumbai woke up to waterlogged streets and disrupted routines as torrential overnight rains battered the city and its suburbs. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the island city recorded 71.99 mm rainfall in the 24-hour period ending 8 am on Sunday, while the eastern and western suburbs received 70.44 mm and 81.42 mm, respectively.
Though rainfall intensity was slightly reduced by morning, intermittent heavy showers continued across the metropolis, creating difficulties for commuters and raising flood concerns.
The IMD has sounded a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, cautioning residents of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and lightning.
The warning will remain in force until Monday morning, with additional alerts issued for the next three hours in Mumbai, Raigad, and Palghar. The weather bureau has emphasized that conditions remain highly volatile, and citizens must take extreme caution.

One of the worst-affected spots was the Andheri subway, which had to be shut down early Sunday due to waterlogging. After drainage operations were carried out, traffic movement resumed.
Several roads across the city witnessed water accumulation, slowing traffic in key areas. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has urged commuters to avoid non-essential travel and keep away from low-lying, flood-prone zones.
Emergency teams were immediately dispatched to address each situation. Importantly, no casualties were reported from any of these incidents, providing a major relief amid the chaos.
According to the weather department, Mumbai will face a high tide of 3.24 metres at 2:55 pm, which could intensify waterlogging if accompanied by heavy rains. A low tide of 1.31 metres at 8:50 pm is expected to ease conditions later in the evening.

Authorities continue to monitor the tide situation closely and have issued repeated appeals for citizens to remain indoors during peak rainfall periods.
The advisory strongly emphasizes public cooperation to ensure safety and smooth disaster management.
While the rains brought disruption, power outages, and infrastructural strain, the city’s resilience was once again evident. Emergency teams worked overnight to restore services, reopen flooded subways, and clear fallen trees. Transport operators kept trains and buses running, ensuring the city remained connected despite severe weather conditions.
As Mumbai enters another day of relentless monsoon fury, the IMD forecasts continued heavy showers across the city and its surrounding districts. Civic officials are on high alert, equipped to manage flooding risks and infrastructure challenges.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, prioritize safety, and stay updated with official advisories. While the weather may test the city’s preparedness, the unwavering spirit of Mumbaikars continues to shine, reflecting hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
The endless natural disasters — whether heavy rains, earthquakes, or tsunamis are a reminder that this universe is under the control of Kaal Brahm, who is not the Supreme God. Kaal Brahm keeps souls trapped in suffering, while the Complete God descends Himself to protect His children.
At present, Tatvadarshi Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji, revered as the incarnation of Kabir Saheb, is guiding humanity with the unique spiritual knowledge of the Supreme God. His divine teachings clarify the difference between Kaal Brahm and the Eternal God, helping souls understand the true path of salvation.
Beyond spiritual guidance, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji has also extended extraordinary humanitarian support. Not only in Haryana but also in other states, He has provided flood relief worth crores of rupees, reaching around 40 villages that were devastated. Villagers, long neglected by government aid, witnessed timely help after His prayers, when truckloads of essential supplies reached them overnight or the very next day.
Grateful villagers and village heads are now recognizing Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji as God Himself, affirming that only God can respond with such swift and boundless compassion.
